How does the lease work? Am I responsible for my roommates’ payments?

Typical leases are 12, 18 or 24 months in duration but accommodations can be made for different terms to suit your needs. No, you are not responsible for a roommates payments as all units at Algonquin House are private, single occupancy units.

Is there Parking?

Absolutely! We have plenty of parking to accommodate every student as well as visitors!

Is there Laundry on site?

Algonquin House provides a cashless swipe card enabled laundry room with six new washer/dryer units that are convenient and easily accessible!

Is Internet wireless or plug in?

Wi-Fi is provided throughout the building with fast and consistent service.

What cleaning services are provided for Common/In-suite option?

All common areas of the building are cleaned regularly by in-house staff and garbage/recycling is picked up frequently.  Every resident is responsible for keeping the common areas clean and tidy (i.e. laundry/ kitchen/ lounge areas). Do not leave empty bottles, food or garbage around. Residents must clean the stove top each time after you have finished cooking so it is clean for the next resident to use. Dishes, pots and pans should be washed, dried and put away immediately after cooking and eating. The cleaner will not do your dishes!

Algonquin-House is operated with a diligent full-time management staff and 24 hour high definition security camera monitoring throughout the building. Security and safety is a top priority.

What happens if I am locked out?

Lock-outs and lost keys have become a thing of the past! Algonquin-House uses a keyless entry system for access to its suites as well as the building. Should a lock-out occur, a quick text to one of our staff members will get you back inside quickly!

Is Algonquin-House affiliated with Algonquin College?

Although Algonquin-House and Algonquin College share positive relations; Algonquin-House is privately owned and operated facility.

Question 9

If you are not a Student, can you rent at Algonquin House?

You must be a full-time/part-time student in order to rent at Algonquin House. During the summer months we do accept student who are on a Co-op placement assignment.

Question 10

What happens if I quit my Course Program and need to cancel my Lease?

Tenants are responsible for the full term of the Lease Agreement, which is 12 months. You have the option to sublet your room to another student. All applicants must be approved my Algonquin House.

Do we offer Keyless Entry?

Lockouts and lost keys have become a thing of the past! Algonquin-House uses a keyless entry system for access to its suites as well as the building. Tenants receive a fob for the main entrance of the building and select a personal code to enter into their private units.

All utilities + WIFI are included and covered in your rent.
